He worked there for more than six years until becoming the fashion editor of Women’s Wear Daily in 1986. Richard also worked as the European editor at Mirabella Magazine in 1990 and was a regular contributor to New York Magazine and Italian Vogue. During the same time period, he began working as the social editor at Vanity Fair magazine. In 1999, he was named Editor in Chief of Vogue Hommes International, a position he held for a few years. He was there for six years, till 2005.
